With a Little Help From Our (Mechanical) Friend

Thanks to new technology and a generous donation from the Kurtz Family Foundation, patients at Brenner Children’s Hospital now have a little extra help and attention in their care and recovery. A new, state-of-the-art, interactive robot helps young patients feel less overwhelmed by medical conditions and procedures they face. Brenner Robot is programmed with cognitive-behavioral strategies to coach patients through painful or stressful procedures and can be used to educate patients, motivate recovering children to get out of bed, and even sing to children on their birthdays.
